Goals- All art students are introduced to the visual arts and develop an appreciation for art forms of diverse cultures, past and present. They develop their problem solving skills and art techniques through the creation of original expressive designs. All students develop portfolios which show their body of works which can be used for contests, exhibits, and scholarships.
Field Trips- Each year students visit the High Museum of Art to view the current exhibits to support the curriculum and have been recipients of Access Atlanta grants. Art exhibits and club meetings have been held at the Centre.
Governor's Honors Program- Sophomores and juniors who excel in art and academics are nominated to attend G.H.P. in Valdosta, Ga. expenses paid for four weeks in the summer.
